Hymenotomia - the intersection of the hymen
Hymenotomia is a treatment in gynecology surgery, which means the incision or removal of the hymen. This treatment is performed in girls with congenital vagina, which is defined as atresia of hymen. Hymen incision surgery is also performed in women who want to remove the hymen, because it is too hard and difficult.
The indication for surgery are irregularities of hymen. In girls with congenital atresia of the hymen, this procedure can be performed at different ages, depending on when you put the diagnosis. Hymen atresia is usually diagnosed in teenagers, already menstruating, in whom menstrual blood can not get out of the vagina, or in girls before puberty. Incision of the hymen should also be considered when it is so hard that it prevents sexual intercourse. Sometimes women opt for surgery being in fear of pain and bleeding associated with the first ratio.
