Perianal folds are oversized, stretched skin folds located around the anus. In some cases, causing increased pressure in the abdomen, folds may become temporarily enlarged. Patients presenting to the proctologic clinic most often complain about the difficulty of maintaining proper hygiene or intend to remove unwanted folds for cosmetic reasons.

In our clinic we remove the folds of perianal using a CO₂ laser. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia during a visit to the proctologist and takes about 20 minutes.
