Ingrowing toenail
This is a condition involving the ingrown nail in the surrounding tissue (usually a nail shaft), causing pain. Recurrent inflammation leads to exuberant tissue granulation (sometimes called patients’ wild meat “). Untreated ingrown toenail can lead to a local purulent infection.
Treatment:
Plastic surgery of the nail plate by Quena way – a method involving the removal of a part of the side of the nail with the matrix and in the immediate vicinity, as amended diseased or deformed shaft nail. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Loss of tissue is commonly eliminated by assumption of two stitches approaching the skin which are removed after about 10 days.
The whole procedure takes several minutes. Operated area requires daily care and change of dressings After surgery,may appear subsidising pain after taking oral analgesics.
